Getting There

Chalet Hay is located in the small French village of Gripp.  Gripp is conveniently located only a 10 minute drive away from the Pyrenees largest ski resort La Mongie, 5 minutes away from the amenities of the small town Marie St Campan and only 20 minutes away from the spa town of Bagneres-de-Bigorre.

By Air

There are four airports within easy reach,
  • Toulouse (2 hours by car)
  • Biarritz (2 hours by car)
  • Pau-Uzein (1 hour 20 mins by car)
  • Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrenees, April to October only (1 hour by car)

Easyjet has cheap flights from Gatwick to Toulouse.
Ryanair has cheap flights from London Stanstead and Bristol to Pau, from London Stanstead to Biarritz and also from London Luton to Biarritz.
British Airways flies from Gatwick to Toulouse.
Jet2 flies from Belfast International, Leeds-Bradford and Edinburgh to Toulouse.
Aer Lingus flies from Dublin to Toulouse.
Thomas Cook Airways flies from Gatwick and Manchester to Toulouse.
First Choice Airways flies from Birmingham to Toulouse.

Cars can be hired from the airport, for best prices we advise booking in advance.  All the usual operators are present and we use holidayextras for competitive prices.  For car hire in the winter make sure you pre-order snow chains. 

From the Airport
  • Toulouse - Autoroute A64 "La Pyrénéenne" from Toulouse (direction Tarbes-Lourdes) taking exit 14 "Tournay" and follow signs for Bagneres-de-Bigorre
  • Biarritz - Autoroute A64 "La Pyrénéenne" from Biarritz (direction Toulouse) taking exit 12 "Tarbes Ouest" and follow signs for Bagneres-de-Bigorre
  • Pau-Uzein - Autoroute A64 "La Pyrénéenne" from Biarritz (direction Toulouse) taking exit 12 "Tarbes Ouest" and follow signs for Bagneres-de-Bigorre
  • Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrenees - Follow signs for Bagneres-de-Bigorre

Once you have reached Bagneres-de-Bigorre follow the signs for La Mongie.   Gripp is located 10 mins past St Marie de Campan.  Once in Gripp take the first left hand turning and take the right at the 't' junction.  This will take you down a small lane with the stream on your right.  Follow this lane down for approx 500 yards and Chalet Hay is located on your left.




By Road

Driving to the Pyrenees is a great way of seeing France and there are plenty of roadside hotels should you wish to make a stopover en-route.

By Train

Book through Rail Europe. Travel from London St Pancras to Lourdes for as cheap as £109 return if you book well in advance. Then just hire a car from Lourdes train station, again this is best booked in advance for the best rates. Then just a 40 minute drive to the chalet. Not only is this good for your carbon footprint, but it’s a great way to see the beautiful French countryside.




Outside Chalet Hay
