10 minute drive from the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees, The
Tourmalet. Chalet Hay is a short transfer from local airports, only a forty minute drive
from Lourdes airport, one hour from Pau or two hours from Toulouse, making Chalet Hay a great
week or weekend destination,
Chalet Hay is a traditional style French mountain grange, over 400 years old and lovingly restored to a superb mountain retreat with wonderful views up and down the stunning Valley of Campan. Chalet Hay is a 4 bedroom 8 person traditional Pyrenees chalet to rent, it has 3 doubles and a twin room, fully equipped kitchen, dinning area and bar. There is a huge fire place with log burner in the lounge area with a 42" TV, DVD player, stereo, games and UK TV.
Chalet Hay is only a 10 minute drive to the slopes of La
Mongie (the largest ski area in
the Pyrenees), with all the convenience of
parking in the center of the ski station. The skiing is truly excellent
with great snow records, uncrowded pistes, good mountain restaurants,
cross-country skiing and plenty of off-piste action.
This area of the Pyrenees has lots to offer; an exquisite spa, excellent
downhill and cross-country skiing, 350 marked mountain bike trails, challenging
Tour de France routes for road cyclists, lots of walks for all abilities, great
restaurants, a golf club with panoramic mountain views and the famous Pic De
Midi observatory just to mention a few.
Chalet Hay's ideal location 20 minutes from the town of Bagneres-de-Bigorre
gives you the best of both worlds; a peaceful mountain location and lots of
activities for everyone. Many more local towns and attractions are easily
accessible for day trips, such as the Catholic town of Lourdes, shopping in
Pau, wondering around Toulouse, or even a drive to the coast.
Our prices include full use of the Chalet and the large south facing garden, bed linen, all water, heating and electricity costs, and some wood for the Log burner. We also offer an option extras service, This is includes having you shopping or a home cooked meal waiting for you on arrival.
